Zero-turn Mower Race
Join the West Alexander Fair’s first zero-turn mower race!
The West Alexander Fair is excited to host our first zero-turn mower clover race on September 7th, beginning at 1 pm in the grandstand arena. There will be 3 classes to choose from, with prize money for first, second, and third places. Racers must be over 18, have their driver’s licence with them at sign in, and bring their own mower and helmet.
-
Participants will be timed as they drive their mower around a traditional 3 barrel race course (see image right). Time begins when announced and ends when the mower crosses the finish line. Time is added to the final result as a penalty for hitting the barrels.
Mowers cannot have altered engines, frames or transmissions. Tires should be standard, without heavy grooves or chains. Blades or belt must be removed. Mower must have a functional kill switch.
Drivers must wear a helmet, have long pants, close toes boots, and a long sleeve shirt. Goggles or a full helmet visor must also be worn while racing.
Drivers must be over 18 and have their driver’s license on hand when signing in.
The West Alexander Fair reserves the right to turn away any participants who fail to meet the necessary criteria to race.
More detailed rules can be found here.
-
Solo: A single driver completes the course alone, like a standard barrel race.
Teams: 3 racers run the track in succession, all on the same mower. When one racer completes their run, the next driver takes over the mower. Time does not stop until the last racer has crossed the finish line.
Pit Crew: 1 racer is blindfolded on their mower and is guided by a teammate on the field but not riding.

Pre-registration guarantees you a place in your chosen class (you may sign up for more than one class) and a $5 discount on your entry fee.
Pricing: $15 per driver per event
